Holiday Tree Auction to Benefit Orchestra

Decorated TreeHeartland of Springfield is partnering with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra for its third annual holiday mini-tree auction, with proceeds benefiting the Symphony. Thirty 4-foot trees will be uniquely decorated by area organizations and businesses for a silent auction, scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the Symphony's annual Holiday Extravaganza. These beautiful trees will be on display and available for silent bidding in the Davidson Grand Lobby of the Clark State Performing Arts Center prior to, and during, the concert.

Decorator themes for this year's auction include "Treasured Moments," by Heartland of Springfield; "Cooking up the Holidays," by Dr. Dobson, "Woodsy Ohio," by Woeber's Mustard; "100 Years of Color" by Crayola Crayons; "A Little Magic in Every Tree" by Keebler Cookies; and "Scoop, Scoop, Yum, Yum" by Smith's Dairy.

The auction will begin at 5 PM, with bidding continuing through concert intermission (approximately 8:30 PM). The Springfield Youth String Ensemble will provide holiday entertainment and light hors d'oeurves and refreshments will be served. This is a terrific opportunity to purchase that perfect tree for your holiday celebrations. Admission to the auction is free.

Tickets to the Holiday Extravaganza are available from the Clark State Performing Arts Center Box Office, 300 South Fountain Avenue, or by calling 937-328-3874.
