Springfield Youth Symphony and Youth String Ensemble Present Ultimate Theatre Package Raffle

This year the Springfield Youth Symphony (SYS), an educational component of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO), celebrates 45 years of nurturing young musicians in Springfield and surrounding communities. Many youth symphony alumni have continued making music as adults, and all have retained the love of music and the discipline learned from making music through their adult lives.

These are challenging times for supporters of the arts, however, and love of music alone is not enough to sustain educational programming. In response to the financial challenges we face, the Springfield Youth Orchestras Parents Association is planning to host an Ultimate Theatre Package Raffle.

From January 10, 2004 through February 20, 2004, raffle tickets will be sold for $25 each, with the ticket goal set at 1,000 tickets. On February 20th, a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will be drawn, each receiving a very nice package of events to attend with family and friends.

Donations have already been received for a performance by Leahy from the beautiful historical Ritz Theatre in Tiffin, Ohio; 4 lawn seat tickets to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra's Fifth Third Summer Pops; 2 tickets to the Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Columbus; as well as other events at the Nutter Center; the Columbus Jazz Arts Group; the Cleveland Orchestra; and Germain Amphitheatre. More donations are arriving daily. Proceeds from the Ultimate Theatre Package Raffle will benefit the SYS, SYSE and other educational programs of the SSO.
