SymFunnies II Keyboard Conversation |
Saturday, February 5, 2005 3PM
Springfield Art Museum
World renowned pianist Jeffrey Siegel brings his Keyboard Conversations to the Springfield Art Museum in a concert created especially for young listeners. Flight of the Bumblebee and and other timeless favorites will bring music to life as the piano sings and dances under Mr. Siegel's nimble fingers.
A budding pianist in your household? Then this concert is not to be missed.
American pianist Jeffrey Siegel has been soloist with many of the world's great orchestras: abroad these include the Berlin Philharmonic, all of the major London orchestras, Moscow State Symphony, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Oslo Philharmonic, Stockholm Philharmonic and the NHK Symphony of Japan; in the U.S., engagements include the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Cleveland Orchetsra, Boston Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra and the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
In addition to his solo appearances, Mr. Siegel presents "Keyboard Conversations©," a unique concert-plus-commentary format in which he speaks to the audience about music prior to performing each work in its entirety. Received with enormous enthusiasm, they present an informal, comprehensible and highly entertaining introduction to the vast repertoire for the piano and to classical music in general. The Springfield Symphony Orchestra is delighted that Mr. Siegel will share his talent and insights in our family friendly series.
